O2R’s mission is to position formerly incarcerated women and girls to lead policy changes pertaining to the legal system.
We support this mission by creating opportunities to build collective power and working directly with policymakers to advocate for the passage and implementation of policies that achieve our goals.
O2R adopts an intersectional approach to understanding issues of oppression and criminalization. We are actively creating, passing and fighting for new policies that address racism and gender bias in our systems. Our efforts also help to address the disproportionate amount of Black people affected by the criminal legal system.
